We offer teaching for students of all ages.

We run 1:1 teaching sessions each week during term time.
Improve reading skills, increase spelling accuracy and boost self-confidence.


The sessions are held at Belle Vue Methodist Church, Shrewsbury on: 

  • Saturday mornings between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm, and 

  • Thursday evenings between 4.15 and 6.15 pm. 

Anyone who would like support with their literacy and numeracy can attend these sessions.

 
 

Each 1:1 multi-sensory session with a fully qualified specialist teacher will provide a supportive and friendly space in which individuals can gain confidence and build on success and may include: 

  • Reading, spelling and writing 

  • Grammar and specialist vocabulary 

  • Numeracy 

  • Study skills and revision techniques 

  • Organisation and time management 

  • Improving communication skills 

  • Improving short-term memory

  • Touch typing support with ‘Touch Type Read Spell’

How much do lessons cost?  

We invite you to come and visit our workshop and meet the tutors before committing to lessons. Once committing we would ask you to become a member of the SDA for a small annual fee. To see the benefits of our membership click here

Each weekly lesson then costs £27.50.

 

If the workshop times are not convenient, then it may be possible to arrange private tuition. We may also be able to offer small bursaries for those on benefits.
